July 2004
Hawkman Report
Well ,this newsletter is going to be short as I have some important events to inform you of the coming month over.
Fund Raising
Firstly we need your help. Our major fund-raiser for the year( the first the club has run for many years) will start on Saturday 17th July at the club house at 10 am. We will be on the road delivering order forms for the Fertilizer Drive. We have selected 8 areas in Rangiora and have to deliver 5000 leaflets to as many homes as we can find in those areas. So we need as many able bodies as possible to get the task done quickly. Orders will be received until the end of July when we will again need your help and trailers to deliver to all those who have ordered. Please give me a call on 327 6448 if you can supply a trailer.
When
we have delivered all of those we will have a BBQ lunch at the
clubhouse followed by the grand un-veiling of our new club RANS S6E
ZK-JOL
Yes the plane is finished and by the 17th it will have had it’s first flight and probably flown is first 5 hours testing and be ready for general training. We are organising a formal function on Saturday the 17th of July to unveil the plane to the public and the club members
Please keep this day free and come along and support your club.
We are having trouble getting flight insurance on JOL, having been turned down by one company (Aviation Co-Op) and not a lot of other interest being shown. Any members with suggestions please contact either Mike (327 6448) or James (0800 021 029); ideally we want to get insurance but it may be that we have to 'self insure' in some way.
Mid Winter Dinner
Saturday 24th
July sees the club host a mid winter Christmas dinners at the
clubhouse. We will decorate the clubhouse in a Christmas theme and a
hot Turkey and stuffing will be provided. We will also provide hot Mull
Wine to keep out the winter cold. A camp fire in the BBQ area will keep
those warm who wander outside. Bring a plate and drinks to add to the
Turkey and Mull Wine.
Mark these dates on you calendar now and we will see you there.
Regards,
Mike
